Quote the string, or leave the space

What the move is

Two moves, in order of reliability: quote a short string exactly, or generate the composition with deliberate empty space and set the type in an editor.

Why it works

Legible in-image text is a specific capability with documented limits that get worse as the string gets longer. Any wording that has to be right does not belong in the generation step.

Step by step

1. Decide whether the words must be correct or merely present. That decision picks the method.
2. If generating: put the exact string in straight quotation marks and say where it sits.
3. Keep it to one short line. A headline plus subhead plus footer is three chances to fail.
4. If setting type: ask for a composition with clear negative space in the region you need.
5. Check every glyph, especially in Arabic and other connected scripts.

Make it yours

Ask for the same composition at two aspect ratios so the empty space survives the crop.

Variations

• Generate the background, then place type in the browser with CSS, so it stays editable and translatable.
• Ask for a version with the text area as flat color, to make masking trivial.
