The video shimmers — textures crawl and the light flickers

What is actually happening
Different from the product changing between shots. This is inside one shot: surfaces re-deciding what they are, frame by frame.
Why
- Some generation approaches solve frames with a degree of independence, so frame-to-frame agreement is a by-product rather than something enforced.
- Detail is where it shows first. A brick wall rearranges its mortar, fabric weave changes direction, and light moves in ways no physical source would.
- Hands, faces and edges during movement are the most visible cases, which is why talking-head and product footage suffers most.
- No vendor benchr has read documents temporal stability at all: the video capability record is partial precisely because the page names the models and the capability and publishes no figure for length, resolution or frame-to-frame consistency. There is no documented limit to design against, which is why this is a reported pattern rather than a documented behavior.
The quick fix
Shorten the shot. Most shimmer becomes invisible below about two seconds, and a cut costs nothing.
The real fix
Design the shot so the busy texture is not the subject: shallow depth of field, plain backgrounds, and motion that carries the eye. Then cut on movement so the eye is travelling when the frame changes its mind.
Step by step
- Cut the shot to the shortest length that still reads.
- Remove fine repeating texture from the background — brick, foliage, dense fabric, small type.
- Keep hands and faces out of the frame during fast movement where you can.
- Prefer one deliberate camera move over a static frame; motion masks instability, stillness advertises it.
- Grade last. A consistent grade over the whole cut hides small frame-to-frame differences that are obvious in raw output.
Grounded in
- Generate video from a prompt or a stillThe record is partial because the vendor page publishes no length, resolution or stability figure — the same silence covers temporal consistency.
